We’ve had conventional tippers for mast forklifts for as long as I can remember. And we’ve had telehandlers become very common over the last 30+ years. It occurred to us that we could have a tipper that utilizes the carriage on the telehandlers. The result is that we’ve gotten rid of the chain and the lever. Charge the forks and simply lift the bin. When it’s lifted some structure will grab the heel of the fork tines and viola. It’s attached. You can tip it out. When you set it back down you can simply drive away.
This tool saves three exits from the forklift compared to the common tipper. It eliminates that exposure to injuries of getting on and off of the forklift. It does save time which is money as well. But I think the big picture is the saving of those injury exposures. A couple of injuries in an entire career would cost far more than a fleet of these bins. It just makes sense from a risk perspective. The workflow win is just otherwise obvious.
